Have you reserved your place to hear some of the world’s greatest choirs in one of the world’s most beautiful cities?

Discover the “Circle Concerts” of the WSCM11!

The Barcelona Symposium has special characteristics making it different from past Symposia.  Barcelona, capital of the Mediterranean, open to the sea and with an important historic heritage opens the Symposium to the city and to Catalonia. The choirs selected will perform not only for the symposium participants, but also for the choral music fans, with concerts open to the public in different locations of Barcelona and its surroundings. However, there is more! and that is why the Barcelona Symposium will incorporate a new way for Choirs from all around the world to participate: Choirs which have not been selected or Choirs interested in participating actively in lectures and in performing. These choirs will also join the symposium musical ambiance offering concerts in the special CIRCLE CONCERTS that will be included in the official program of the WSCM11 and the 52nd International Festival of Choral Singing of Barcelona.

Conducted by Nadezhda Averina, this is the Senior choir of Ponomaryov VESNA Children’s Choir School (Moscow, Russia). “Vesna”is a choir distinguished by the originality of its creative approach, a refined taste, impeccable singing technique, inimitable on-stage expression and in-depth interpretation. It is a singing ensemble known for being an artistic benchmark for the modern choir art as performed by children. This is a community that for five decades has been giving its listeners a gift of happiness and joy through its spring-like art.

I MUVRINI – Corsica

I Muvrini is a French (Corsica) regional vocal group formed in the late 70s around Alain and Jean-François Bernardini. They were one of the most exposed bands of their kind throughout their long career, and worked with many French and foreign artists such as Sting, Luz Casal, Mc Solaar or Véronique Samson (among many others). From 1979 to 2007, the band released around thirty albums, both studio and live ones, their 2007 “I Muvrini et les 500 choristes” being their seventh Gold Record since 1994. Their style evolved from the most traditional forms of Corsica's "polyphonies" to more pop tones, though they never forgot their native language at any time.
