New Board Elected at the European Music Council (EMC)

The 8th European Forum on Music, organised and hosted by EMC and the Norwegian Music Council in Oslo, Norway, just ended on June 10. The Annual Meeting of Members of the EMC took place on 10 June 2018, where a new EMC Board was elected at the EMC Annual Meeting

  • Ian Smith, President (United Kingdom, Nominated by Live Music Now Scotland)
  • Victoria Liedbergius, Vice-President (Norway, Nominated by the European Choral Association – Europa Cantat)
  • Willem van Moort, Treasurer (The Netherlands, Nominated by the European Music School Union)
  • Eirik Birkeland (Norway, Nominated by the European Association of Conservatoires)
  • Joanna Grotkowska (Poland, Nominated by the Polish Music Council)
  • Audrey Guerre (France, Nominated by Live DMA)
  • Michalis Karakatsanis (Cyprus, Nominated by the International Association of Music Information Centres)
  • David Zsoldos (Hungary, Nominated by the Hungarian Music Council)

Congratulations!

As the two candidates for the 7th position received the same amount of votes, both were co-opted to the Board upon decision of the Annual Meeting of Members of the EMC.

The next Annual Meeting and edition of the EFM in 2019 will coincide with the IMC World Forum on Music, celebrating the IMC’s 70th Anniversary. Save the date: 27 September to 1 October 2019 in Paris, France.
