World Choral EXPO 2022, Lisbon, Portugal, 3-7 September 2022

For the second time since its creation in 2015, the IFCM World Choral EXPO (WCE) will be organized in the beautiful city of Lisbon, Portugal. While a regional committee has been created to focus on the local community, the IFCM WCE 2022 committee has planned an exciting international program with ensembles from five continents.

  • Performances by 12 invited choirs and vocal ensembles including two professional ensembles
  • Colourful Voices program with children’s choirs
  • EXchange! program (papers and presentations) in collaboration with The Singing Network
  • Cultural Exchange program for choirs (in addition to the invited choirs and ensembles) – registration available to international choirs of all styles and ages. Registration includes opportunities for performances (choirs singing for and with each other), coaching with guest conductors, and workshops and seminars with international choral specialists.
  • Workshops and seminars for all choirs and ensembles
  • Conducting masterclasses
  • Gala concerts
  • Annual IFCM General Assembly
  • And last but not least, the celebration of IFCM’s 40th Anniversary, including a special exhibition dedicated to IFCM in the Palacete of dos Condes de Monte Real and the launch of a 40th anniversary publication.

Among the invited choirs are Cantemus Youth Choir, conductor Denis Ceausov (Moldova); Collective Singers, conductor Ponti Dikuua (Namibia); Incantare Coro Femenino, conductor Natalia Vadillo (Argentina); Maze, conductor Merel Martens (Netherlands); Mosaica Singers, conductor Nedy Muna (Jordan); Portland State Choir, conductor Ethan Sperry (USA); Shallaway Youth Choir, conductor Kellie Walsh (Canada); and many more to come.
