Register for Leading Voices before 1 May!
Published: Apr 19,2022

To have guaranteed access to Leading Voices, European Days for Vocal and Choral Leaders, registration until 1 May 2022 is needed. Only registration before this date gives full access to this brand new choral event, which will take place from 27-31 July in Utrecht, The Netherlands. After this deadline entry to the full event cannot be guaranteed.

Leading Voices is a new European event for professionals and enthusiasts of choral music initiated by the European Choral Association. The event offers over 80 sessions and over 50 speakers from Europe and beyond. The central theme of Leading Voices is the future of choral music: how do we ensure that singing together remains relevant from an artistic and a social perspective?

About the programme
Inspiring forerunners and established artists are selected as session leaders in the programme. Music specialists such as Josep Vila i Casañas, Anna-Maria Hefele, Jan Schumacher and Daniel Reuss will host sessions where they share their knowledge and experience, in either workshops, masterclasses or lectures. Besides artistic content, there is attention for projects in which singing together is used for social goals and themes. Different perspectives on collective singing are presented as well as audience development and creating partnerships. All genres and skills levels are present at the event.

During the day participants can experiment in different LAB’s, join inspiring sessions and discuss current topics. Also, there are many options to meet European peers, get to know new music and expand the network.

In the evening participants can visit two different concerts from renowned ensembles like the ensemble I Fagiolini (UK), the choir Mikrokosmos (F) or Kamer…Youth Choir (Latvia).

Reconnect and get together again
The possibility of getting together has not been easy the last couple of years. Leading Voices celebrates the opportunity of getting together and reconnecting. The event aims to bring choral professionals from all over Europe and beyond together to share knowledge and gain inspiration.
