World Symposium on Choral Music 2026, Meet the Selected Choirs
Published: Dec 02,2025

For six days in August 2026, Macau will be host to one of the biggest events of the International Federation for Choral Music, held with the support of the Macau Choral Arts Association. The theme for the 2026 triennial gathering of the international choral community is Reimagining the Future and aims to attract representation from all regions in the world. WSCM 2026 will invite us to reflect on the present, considering what has changed or is in the process of changing, while also looking forward with imagination and curiosity to what the future could hold.

Macau is a vibrant destination that blends Portuguese and Chinese cultures, famous for its dazzling casinos, luxurious resorts, and unique Macanese cuisine. An autonomous region on the south coast of China, across the Pearl River Delta from Hong Kong, Macau was a Portuguese territory until 1999. The region offers a captivating mix of old and new. As such, it is an ideal location in which to ‘reimagine the future’!

To help us fulfil this challenge of Reimagining the Future, let’s meet the selected choirs:

Hamilton Children’s Choir (Canada), the Philippine Madrigal Singers (Philippines), the National Taiwan Hakka Children's Choir (Taiwan), Vox Clamantis (Estonia), the Norwegian Male Choir (Norway), the Ponomarev Vesna Children's Choir(Russia), Postyr (Denmark), the Adelaide Chamber Singers (Australia), the Mad Singers Youth Choir (Hong Kong China), The Singapore Choral Artists (Singapore), the Ansan City Choir (South Korea), the Shanghai Youth Choir (China), the University of Johannesburg Choir (South Africa) and the World Youth Choir.

Stay tuned for details on the selected choirs and to meet the inspiring presenters, workshop and conducting masterclass leaders behind this WSCM 2026.

Thank you to all the choirs and presenters who submitted their applications!
