The 2018 China (Qiandongnan) International Folk Song Choral Festival and the IFCM Voices Conference will be held in Xiasi Ancient Town and Kaili City, Qiandongnan state, Guizhou province from July 27 to 30. The festival is co-sponsored by the Qiandongnan government and IFCM. The festival’s grand opening ceremony will be held in Xiasi Ancient Town, with a beautiful natural backdrop of the glowing lights of Xiasi reflected on the clear river and set against the night sky.
During these five days, the participants will share their cultures, make friends and meet colleagues, and spread the love of choral folk songs to people around the world. This year, the invited choirs are Gioventù in Cantata (Italy), Ensemble Evergreen (Japan), Le Chant Sur La Lowé (Gabon), Columbia University Choir (USA), Coro Arturo Beruti (Argentina) and the Asia Pacific Youth Choir - APYC (Asia-Pacific region).
