Singers Around the World Are Participating in the VoxPopuli Virtual Choir
Published: Oct 31,2018

On the 100th Anniversary of the official end of World War I, singers around the world will give a message of peace through the VoxPopuli Virtual Choir.

A virtual choir is formed of videos sent by individual singers who record themselves while singing their correspondent section of a selected choral work. The selected material is combined to create an audio-visual final product. VoxPopuli Virtual Choir will sing the work “Nada te turbe” by Venezuelan composer Carlos Cordero, winner work of VoxPopuli Category (Audience award) in the 1st International Choral Composition Competition “Alberto Grau” (CICCAG) promoted by Aequalis Foundation, a non-profit institution based in Caracas, Venezuela. Ana María Raga will be the conductor of this special choir.

We join the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) to celebrate the World Choral Day, an initiative of Alberto Grau when he was IFCM Vice President for Latin America.

Singers from Venezuela, Argentina, México, Colombia, Ecuador, USA, Poland, Russia, Spain, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Turkey, United Kingdom, among other countries, are participating in this project.

The final virtual performance will be released through all digital media as a celebration of World Choral Day.
