Palestinian-Swedish choir, COMMON GROUND VOICES, was initiated in Stockholm with a performance on 9 February in the presence of the King and Queen of Sweden. Under the artistic direction of Professor André de Quadros and organized by the Eric Ericson International Choral Centre, Sweden, this choir consists of equal numbers of Israeli, Palestinian, and Swedish singers. The residency took place in Stockholm, where the artistic and interactive focus was on finding common human concerns and values. Having established common ground through sharing and improvising on Israeli, Palestinian, and Swedish songs, the singers also turned to discussions of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
