Early July 2023, the streets of Ghent, Belgium will be filled with music and joy. Why, you ask? Because the EUROPA CANTAT Junior Festival 2023 will be in the great hands of Koor&Stem, the choral organisation in Flanders.
EUROPA CANTAT Junior is a festival for children’s and youth choirs with up to 1,000 young participants from all over the world. It takes place in a different European city every three years and is co-organized by European Choral Association – Europa Cantat in collaboration with local organizations. This year the Europa Cantat Junior Festival 2020 takes place in Vilnius, Lithuania, 5-13 August 2020.
The future host, Koor&Stem is the choral organization in Flanders which supports more than 1,000 choirs, 35,000 singers, and conductors in the Dutch-speaking, northern part of Belgium. Koor&Stem - also the local organizer of the World Choir Games 2021 - is looking forward to to the opportunity once more to invite a crowd of young, passionate singers from Europe and all over the world. The festival will take place in the heart of the city of Ghent. Ateliers, open singing, concert venues, historical sites, and most of the accommodation for the festival are all within walking distance. Ghent offers a buzzing creative scene alongside the beautiful, historical, and car-free city center! Have a look!
