Dr. Jacob Youngmok Chang was elected 5th President of Korea International Choral Association (KICA) on 10 October 2022. KICA was established in 2009 for choral conductors, composers, choral music publishers, music critics, and singers who are interested in international choral activities. Former President of Daegu Art University and Dean of Music Keimyung University, founder of Academy Choral (1959) and Daegu Metropolitan City Professional Choir (1981), Dr. Chang has been very much involved in IFCM for many years. He was an IFCM Advisor (1999-2005) and a presenter at the WSCM 1996 in Sydney, Australia, and at the WSCM 2011 in Puerto Madryn, Argentina. Dr. Chang has also been a member of the IFCM Asia Pacific Choral Council since 1998 and has served as Korean translator for the monthly IFCMeNEWS since 2012. He is currently an Advisor of the Korean Federation for Choral Music (KFCM). IFCM congratulates Dr. Chang for this new position and looks forward to more collaborations in the future.
