Job Offer: Chorus Director at the Edinburgh Festival Chorus

The Edinburgh International Festival seeks expressions of interest from world class choral directors to succeed Aidan Oliver as Chorus Director of the Edinburgh Festival Chorus from Autumn 2023.

The Edinburgh Festival Chorus has been at the heart of the International Festival since its foundation in 1965 and performs a number of programmes each year with some of the finest international orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic and Orchestre de Paris and conductors including Sir Andrew Davis, Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Simon Rattle and Marin Alsop.

The current rehearsal schedule has regular weekly rehearsals held in Edinburgh on a Tuesday evening (October – June); a shorter augmenter group in Glasgow currently on a Monday evening (January – March); a number of weekends throughout the season (currently 4) and an additional intensive weekend of rehearsals in the period immediately before the festival.  

The position is offered for an initial 3-year term.
