IFCM Working Committees 2023-2026

IFCM Board restructures its committees in order to better serve the choral community.

During their third meeting on 25 May 2023, newly-elected Board members worked positively and actively to confirm the new structure of the working committees responsible for managing the various matters of IFCM.

Here is an overview of the overall organizational categories with sub-committees and/or a summary of tasks:

The Big SIX

Programs: World Symposium on Choral Music 2026, World Choral EXPO, World Choral Day, Composition Competition, and the festivals in China.
Governance: The tasks of this committee are to monitor Bylaws and internal policy documents as needed, develop a Code of Ethics, and oversee the election process. The committee will also ensure that IFCM commits to and prioritizes inclusion and diversity.
Education and Outreach: Conductors Without Borders, YOUNG program, YOUNG IFCM, Central Asia Youth Choir, online activities.
Membership: Communication with members and Creating Futures in Choral Music program.
Fundraising and Marketing.
Communication: Oversight includes website, social media, International Choral Magazine, and IFCMeNEWS.

Partnerships continue also between IFCM and the International Music Council, the European Music Council, Musica International, Africa Cantat, America Cantat, the World Youth Choir Foundation, and the Asia Pacific Choral Council for the Asia Pacific Youth Choir.
