On 21 September 2024, the African Confederation for Choral Music and the Africa Cantat Festival organized a webinar on the topic: “Exploring the Legacy of Shalati Joseph Khosa in African Choral Music”. Shalati Joseph Khosa was born into a musical family in South Africa and began arranging and embellishing hymns and traditional pieces at the age of six. By the time he was fourteen, Shalati Joseph had composed several songs that were performed by church and school choirs.
This webinar explores Shalati Joseph Khosa’s legacy in the African choral music repertoire, with insights from Nyiko Condry Ngobeni, a South African researcher.
