World Choral Day 2024: Voices Uniting the Planet
Published: Oct 31,2024

The theme of the World Choral Day 2024 is Voices Uniting the Planet.

IFCM is calling on millions of singers worldwide to join us and use their voices for peace through collective singing. We are confident that this is one of the most powerful tools we can use to contribute to achieving peace – an essential and pressing global necessity.

Ways to participate in the World Choral Day 2024

  • In-person performances
  • Virtual performances
  • Record the Proclamation for World Choral Day

What’s new this year?

IFCM World Choir Day and Choirs for Ecocide Law (CFEL) will collaborate to ensure that World Choir Day 2024 is not only a platform for promoting peace but also for promoting environmental sustainability.

CFEL is an artistic choral project whose main purpose is to spread awareness about the need to make large-scale environmental destruction (ecocide) an international crime. See CFEL leaflet here.

Some additional options to celebrate WCD

In addition to reading the World Choral Day Proclamation and singing the World Choral Day Anthem 2024 during their World Choral Day events, choirs and ensembles around the world may participate in any of the these options:

  • Learn and include one or two songs from the Choirs for Ecocide Law concert repertoire during their World Choral Day event:
    • Hope by Merzi Rajala
    • Ask Not by Peder Karlsson
  • Organise a “movie-night”, watching the MeWe - Choirs for Ecocide Law documentary film
  • Participate in a workshop/webinar led by the Choirs for Ecocide Law artistic team with the aim to explain the background of the project and why the Ecocide Law is needed.

Did you miss Choirs for Ecocide Law’s first presentation on 26 October 2024? Watch it here.
