World Choral Expo: YOUNG program survey

In the framework of World Choral EXPO 2022 (WCE), IFCM has created a program for young choral managers: YOUNG Youth International Management Program. Selected in May 2022 from a pool of 35 applicants, ten young managers attended pre-WCE roundtables and seminars during which they learned about the multiple and varied aspects of preparing and managing a cultural event. IFCM 2022 General Assembly

After a successful online voting which resulted in multiple changes in the IFCM Bylaws and Membership Policy document, more than 50 IFCM members attended the 2022 General Assembly (4 September 2022) at Palacete dos Condes de Monte Real (Lisbon, Portugal) where they had the possibility to listen to reports on IFCM’s projects and activities, ask questions, and make suggestions.

Following the 2022 General Assembly on September 9, 2022, IFCM members and friends present that day were invited by President Emily Kuo Vong to attend the official reception of IFCM’s 40th Anniversary which began with a cameo concert by Mosaïca (Jordan) and was followed by a lunch in the beautiful dining rooms of the Palacete.

The next edition of the World Symposium on Choral Music will be hosted in Istanbul 25-30 April 2023. After the unfortunate cancellation of the 2020 edition, for the last 6 years the choral community has not had the opportunity to meet under the umbrella of the symposium. It is extremely exciting for us, Türkiye’s Choral Culture Association, to be able to host this fantastic gathering in the historical and multicultural city of Istanbul, which connects the two continents Europe and Asia.

KFCM joined the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) in 2005.
