The 17th China International Chorus Festival is scheduled to be held in Beijing from 15 to 19 July 2024. During these five days, the festival will feature a wide range of choral activities, including opening and closing ceremonies, choral forums, choir evaluation, high-level concerts featuring both Chinese and international choirs, master classes (workshops), and public welfare activities. Berkshire Choral International (BCI) has appointed its new artistic leadership team: Dr. Anthony Trecek-King will step into the new role of Artistic Director, providing leadership to the organization for strategic direction and long-term artistic vision. Dr. Sean Taylor will be expanding his role at BCI, taking on the Director of Music position, having served as a frequent BCI faculty member over the past decade. The European Choral Association is a member of the European and International Music Councils (EMC and IMC, respectively) and subscribes to the Five Music Rights developed by IMC. The fifth right is the right for all musical artists “to obtain just recognition and fair remuneration for their work”. In the past, this right has often not been fully respected in the choral sector.
